In Brief
Let us take you on a private tour, and follow the footsteps of the Olympian Gods and Pericles' in a pilgrimage to the 5th century BC, known as the "Golden age of Athens”. You will see the most important monuments of Athens including the Temple of Zeus, the Panathinaic stadium, the magnificent buildings of the Academy of Athens, and the University, but above all, you will admire the imposing Parthenon Temple on top of the Acropolis hill.
The tour will also take you to visit the battleground of Marathon, in the outskirts of Athens. You will travel back in time, to that summer morning in 490 B.C, when the dawn broke; it found the Athenian troops stood ready for battle on the coastal plain near Marathon, northeast of Athens. They awaited the charge of their mighty enemy, the King of Kings of Persia; Darius the Great. His relentless expansion was headed westward, toward the heart of the ancient Greek world, a society he aimed to subjugate.
But the Athenian General Miltiadis had different plans. He showed how Strategy can annihilate the numerical superiority of the enemy in the upcoming confrontation, which meant to be one of the most decisive as well as earliest recorded battles in human history.
