Our Route:

Our Private tour starts from Athens city center. We are going to visit some of the most emblematic monuments of Athens that they signature its cultural identity through the ages and characterize the city. After meeting with your driver and/or guide in the designated point, your tour kicks off with – what else? – the sacred Acropolis Hill. Your Athens city tour continues across Athens' most important monuments. Marvel at the Panathenaic Stadium, the venue that hosted the 1st modern Olympic Games of 1986. Continue to the Temple of Olympian Zeus and a little later find yourself into the 19th century Athens by visiting the Trilogy of Athens and the building of the ex-Royal Palace in Syntagma Square, built a few years after the establishment of the new Greek State in 1835, which now houses the Greek Parliament.

Then just a breath away from down town Athens, the urban landscape gives way to a unique resort. The entire south side of Attica is endowed with wonderful sandy beaches, rocky coves and lush nature. Combined with ideal climate, it makes you feel that you are on vacations on a Greek island, but guess what? Without even having to set foot on a ferry!

Our first stop will be in Palio Faliro, a suburb that has retained some of its former glamour as a cosmopolitan resort. Next to Flisvos Marina is the Floating Naval Museum where you can get to know the countries’ Naval History by getting aboard some of the most glorious warships ever built.

After a refueling lunch break, hop on your luxury vehicle and start your way towards Cape Sounio, where you could marvel the 5th-century B.C Doric Temple of Poseidon. It is a magnificent showcase of the elements of nature standing in an elevation of 60m (200ft) above sea level. From its columns one has literally a hang-gliders view of the Saronic Gulf and the Aegean Sea. Once it was a sailors’ landmark, a haunt for pirates and a target of pilgrimage for modern travelers. Follow the clues of Lord Gordon Byron, who left his name prominently carved into one of Poseidon temple’s marble pillars and walk around one of the most important shrines of the Classical era.

Post Covid 19 Policy:

Vehicles will be sanitized before every pick up. Hands sanitizing done before departure and after every major stop. There can be maximum 6 clients in an 8 seater minivan to secure social distance among participants (for shared small group tours only). Face masks available for clients. Guides will wear facemasks. Fresh trash bag will be place in every vehicle and waste will be destroyed at the end of the tours.

For a full refund, cancel at least 48 hours in advance of the start date of the experience.

Traveler pickup is offered.

Pick up and drop off is included from all centrally located Athens hotels and apartments. Just inform us during the booking of the hotel you are staying at, or apartment address. If the hotel /apartment is not accessible (e.g narrowness, pedestrian area) we will appoint a nearby meeting point for picking you up. You will receive an email or text msg from us with the exact pick up time the day before the start of the tour.

What should I bring with me?

Since your visit includes a fair bit of walking, uphill it is recommended that you

Wear light hiking shoes or comfortable, rubber sole shoes
During the summer months, bring along with you a hat, sun glasses, sunscreen and wear light-colored clothing
Waterproof jacket/membrane (for the rainy days)
Your own personal water bottle. As part of our environmental policy and actions, we are committed to eliminating the use of plastic water bottles.

Can you pick us up from our hotel?

We offer a pick-up, free of charge, for hotels or apartments that are located in downtown Athens. For hotels or apartments outside city’s center we offer pick-ups with a 10% discount of the usual fair. Please send us an inquiry!

Is it difficult for older people to follow the group?

Not at all! The tour is private and totally customized to your needs. Should you chose so, you will be assigned an excellent, flexible guide and the walk will follow a moderate pace, in order to be a pleasant experience for everyone. We will also make several stops to admire and discuss the fascinating monuments and sites along our way.

Is it child friendly?

Very much so! Kids will learn about the Myth of Theseus and the Minotaur, about wise King Aegeas and many things for Temple of Poseidon that will make this tour an unforgettable experience for your little ones!

Is it available as a shore excursion?

Of course! You can have this tour customized to your personal schedule. We will gladly arrange transfers from and back to your cruise ship, in order for you to enjoy as much as possible during your short stay in Athens. Please send us an inquiry and we will get back to you as soon as possible!
